Lola Grace Venable, 99, formerly of Liberal, Mo.,
passed from this life on Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Stockton
Nursing Home, Stockton, Mo.
Grace was born July 7, 1912, in Liberal, Mo., to
Herman and Pearl (Metsinger) Leatherman. She married
Clarence Edwin Venable on December 24, 1935 at Girard,
Ks. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1989. Grace was
a school teacher and taught at West Union and Banner
country schools, and then in Kansas City, Mo. for twelve
years. She was a member of Liberal Christian Church and
belonged to the CWF. Grace taught Sunday School for
many years and Vacation Bible School, also. She was a
lifelong resident of Liberal, Mo.
Survivors include two sons, Gene Venable and
wife Dorothy, Stockton, Mo., and Gary Venable and wife
Janet, Liberty, Mo.; three daughters, Kay Ramsey and
husband Bobby, Lamar, Mo., Linda Gonzales and husband
Ross, Stockton, Mo., and Brenda Cornine and husband
Marvin, Blackwater, Mo.; 14 Grandchildren; 31 Great-Grandchildren; and 9 Great-Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters,
Beryl Fields and Alta Casey; and a Grandson, Todd
Cornine.
