On November 24th, 2011, at the age of 52, Joe passed from this earth at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was born February 20, 1959 in Kansas City, Kansas to Raymond and Louise Faris Fanning. He graduated from high school in Leeton, Missouri. He moved to Lamar Missouri where he worked as a supervisor for O'Sullivan Manufacturing for 27 years, and most recently he was employed at Leggett and Platt as a master manufacturing technician since 2007.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Raymond. He is survived by his mother, Louise Fanning of Springfield, three sons, Jeremiah Fanning, Nicholas and wife, Melissa Fanning, Zachary Fanning, two daughters, Taylor Fanning and Alyssa Fanning, all of Lamar, six grandchildren, Brynn, Olivia, Trenton, Cody, Lane and Ryan, four brothers, Martin Fanning, Bowling Green, KY, Jerry Fanning, Springfield, MO, Myron Fanning, Springfield, MO, Don Fanning, Springfield, MO, two sisters, Rayna Fanning, Springfield, Mo, Rita Collins, Stockton, MO, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special people including, "Uncle Harold", Fred Beaver and nephew, Dylan Fanning of the home.
Joe, also known as "Papa Joe" enjoyed most of all his family and his many friends. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and was always "Making Memories" with his camera. Joe took pride in his work and his co-workers. With Joe's smile and handshake, he knew no strangers. He was sincerely blessed and will be missed by all who knew him.
