Obituary of Arlene Wimsatt

Leta "Arlene" Wimsatt, 76, formerly of Lamar, passed away August 13, 2013 at Medicalodges Pittsburg South. She was born January 6, 1937 to Herman and Para (Harley) Mayfield in Iantha, MO. Arlene married Charles Melvin Wimsatt, October 24, 1953 in Lamar, MO. Five children were born to this union. Arlene was a wonderful wife, mother, cook, seamstress, woodworker; an accomplished home maker. She enjoyed life, taking many trips with her husband and family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was very creative. She lived her life as a Christian and was a member of the Baptist Church of Iantha. Arlene was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Deanne Wimsatt; a daughter in law, Venice Marie Wimsatt; an infant grandson; an infant great grandson; brother, Chuck Mayfield; her parents. Survivors include her husband, Charles, of the home; sons, Alan and wife, Carol, of Wheatland, MO, Kevin, of Republic, MO; daughters, Kim, and husband, Rob Baake, of Holden, MO, Brenda and husband, Marvin King, of Galena, KS; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Mayfield and wife, Peg, brother, Nuel Mayfield and wife, Cindy; sister Nadene Sanders; brother-in-law, Henry Wimsatt and wife, Delores; extended family and innumerable friends. She was loved and will be missed by so many.
