Obituary of Bonnie Pierce

Bonnie J. Pierce, 87, passed away September 7, 2013, at Medical Lodge of Frontenac. She was born November 11, 1925 at home in rural Barton County to James Thomas and Josie Ann (Dryer) Kirby. She graduated from Minden School, Mindenmines, MO, and was employed as a secretary for the school after graduation. Bonnie married Raymond E. Pierce, November 10, 1945, at the Reverend Stevenson's home in Pittsburg, KS. They made their home in Barton County and she became a homemaker and farmers wife. Bonnie was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church and past president of the PTA. Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Raymond; and her parents. Survivors are her son Charles Pierce and wife, Carol, of Liberal, MO; grandchildren, Charlene Strong and husband, Dustin, of Frontenac, KS, Dwight Pierce, of Jasper, MO, Bobby Pierce and wife, Angela, of Kansas City, MO, and Danny Pierce, of Frontenac, KS; brother J. D. Kirby and wife, Jo, of Liberal, MO; many nieces and nephews.
