Joel Andrew Brackman, 42, of Clinton, MO, died Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Concordia, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Born October 22, 1970 in Kansas City, he was the son of Russell S. Brackman and Linda Petty Brackman who survive of Windsor. He was a graduate of Glenn High School in Kernersville, NC and attended Guilford Technical Community College in Jamestown, NC, where he became a very proficient welder, which became a career for him. On June 12, 2010, he married Shelley Beel who survives of the home. Joel was of the Lutheran faith.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by two sisters, Christine Tennal of Lamar, MO and Stephanie Koch of Clinton, MO; step-daughter, Kimberly Bailey; step-son, Terry Terster; two grandsons, Blake Welch and Brayden Bailey; and Daniel Arnold, whom Joel thought of as a son; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edwin and Mildred Brackman; and his maternal grandparents, Homer and Claudine Petty; and a granddaughter, Alexis Bailey.
