Nancy Irene Thomas, 62, Golden City, MO, passed away October 9, 2013, at Freeman Hospital West, Joplin, MO. She was born October 21, 1950 to Raymond and Ruth (Baetke) Leivan. Nancy graduated from Golden City High School, Golden City, MO.
Nancy worked at O'Sullivan, Golden City Foundry, the Cap Factory in Lockwood, and a self-employed house cleaner. She loved keeping an immaculate home and decorating for the holidays. Her yard was kept as immaculate as her home as she loved flower gardening, vegetable gardening and canning the produce they grew and she knew how to cook and prepare for all to enjoy. Nancy had raised Rottweilers, but her Jack Russell terrier brought her a source of great joy. She married the love of her life, James Thomas, October 1, 1998.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Raymond; a brother, Ronald; step-daughter, Arlene Thomas Baldwin. She is survived by her husband, James of the home; brother, Richard Leivan, Iantha, MO; her mother, Ruth Tyler, Golden City, MO; two step-children, Dewey Thomas, Springdale, AR and Jeanette Salzman, Golden City, MO; step-mother, Mary Leivan; Aunt Eunice Walker, Lamar, MO; extended family and many, many close and dear friends. She was a great help to her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
