Obituary of George Rawlings

George D. Rawlings, 70, Lamar, MO, passed away January 24, 2014, at home surrounded by his family. He was born August 8, 1943, in Oskaloosa, MO to W.F. "Bud" and Ladye Yoke Rawlings. George graduated from Liberal High School, Class of 1961. He was employed by MFA Elevators and was a second generation hay and straw business owner. George was of the Christian faith. He was a member and past president of the Optimist Club, and was a strong supporter of the FFA. He married Earlene Robertson, August 22, 1981, Lamar, MO. George is survived by his wife, Earlene of thirty two years; three sons, Rick Rawlings of Colleyville, TX, Loyd Rawlings of Ozark, MO and Jeff Rawlings of Columbia, IL; nine grandchildren; two brothers, John Rawlings of Liberal, MO, Richard E. Rawlings of Baxter Springs, KS; three sisters, Dorothy Snyder of Lamar, MO, Margarite Buzzard of Lamar, MO, and Kathryn Sherron of Excelsior Springs, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Gene Rawlings; a sister Carolyn Skinner. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
