Obituary of Thayne Fast

Thayne Fast, 84, of Lebanon, MO, passed away April 5, 2014. He was born April 16, 1929, in Barton City, MO, to Paul Cruser and Alta Jane "Janie" (Gilmartin) Fast. Thayne was a graduate of Liberal High School, Class of 1946. Thayne was a Freewill Baptist Minister, preaching in Kansas City and served the Hickory Grove Church in Archie, MO for over twenty six years. Thayne lived and worked on the family farm, raising cattle, alfalfa, custom bailing, gardening, tending animals and just about anything to be outside or helping his family. He also worked hauling propane and drove a school bus for the Liberal School District. Thayne married Elnora Hudson on December 15, 1951 in Lamar, MO. They raised three children in a loving Christian home. Thayne is survived by his wife of sixty two years, Elnora; two sons, Thayne "Burl" Fast, of Lebanon, MO, and Ricky Paul Fast and wife, Doris, of Liberal, MO; daughter, Thaylia Sue Wheeler, of North Richland Hills, TX; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Beem and husband, Darin , Nicki Ann Walker and husband, Jared, Ricky Paul Fast II and wife, Andrea, and Austin, Andrea, Corey and Chelsea Wheeler; five great granddaughters, Cassidy and Coti Beem, Baylee and Blair Walker, Presley Hanna; two step great grandsons, Vance and Blaine; sister Phyllis (Fast) Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Paul Eugene "Gene" Fast and Orin Taylor Fast; three sisters Martha Nell Elbrader, Joan Brenner and Ruby Riley.
