Rachel Louise Morris McBride Hall
Rachel Louise Hall, 87, Bedford, TX, passed away April 5, 2014. Rachel was born March 9, 1927, in Springfield, MO to The Honorable James Earl "Jim" Morris and Lora Elizabeth (Brooks) Morris.
Rachel was a 1945 graduate of Central High School, Springfield, MO. She attended Cox School of Nursing, formerly Burge Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1948. Rachel furthered her education in nursing with a BSN from Drury College in Springfield, MO in 1955 and a MSN from Washington University, St. Louis, MO in 1959. She lived and practiced nursing in Missouri, Arkansas and Texas. Rachel loved her work and helping people. Highlights of her career include starting the Associate Degree Nursing Program at Missouri Western College in St. Joseph, MO and becoming the director of the Nursing Program at Texarkana College in Texarkana, TX and Boone County Hospital, Harrison, AR. She retired from the Arkansas Dept. of Health, Little Rock, AR as a consultant. She married Benjamin Milas McBride in 1951, Raton, N.M. and Harley Joseph Hall in 1974, in Little Rock, AR.
Rachel was preceded by her husband, Harley Hall; her parents; brother, Wayne G Morris. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" McBride, Bedford, TX; sister-in-law Phyllis Morris, Lamar, MO; four nephews, Kirk, Kent, Kevin and Kim Morris and families; several cousins; and a host of very dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, suggested memorial contributions can be made to Ronald McDonald House of Ft. Worth Texas or Cox School of Nursing c/o funeral home, in lieu of flowers or contribution, suggested acts of kindness in the name of Christ.
