Kay, So sorry to hear about Max. We three Clark boys (Freddie, Teddie, and Frankie) first met the Rose boys 65 years ago when we moved to Liberal. We always had a tremendous time with them. I remember Max would often get Mrs. Link off subject in history class by bringing something up about the Cardinals. She loved the Cardinals so would talk for the rest of the class period about something in the past about the Cardinals. Also, sorry I could not come for memorial service, but I just had knee replacement surgery. Frank

Kay and family, Just a few months ago you and Max were at our kitchen table sharing Thanksgiving dinner with us and sharing stories. When we moved in across the road it wasn't long before we were not only neighbors but we became family. Our pain is eased knowing Max is no longer suffering and "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." Love to all the family.

We were very sad to learn of Max's passing but we are very happy that he is not suffering any longer. Like everything else in Max's life, he worked as hard as he could to beat his health problems, unfortunately they were just too strong. In my early teens I used to work on my uncle Estelle's farm with Max. Work?, yes we did work hard, but after the workday Max always had time to do some "fun activities" with me, "the little pest". I look back at those days as some of the best times of my life. Thanks Max.

We are so saddened by the loss of Max. Max, of all of my cousins, most reminded me of our Grandfather, who we called "Dad" Rose. Max had the same kindness, thoughtfulness, honesty, and friendly good natured demeanor that I always so admired in Dad Rose. Although, it was rare in recent years that our paths crossed...usually at the Lamar Fair, it was always delightful to see his smiling face, and to spend a few minutes chatting with him and Kay. He will be missed.

I remember my mother talking fondly of her cousin, Max Rose, when I was a child She told us about his kind and generous heart. About him and his wife, Kay, adopting and fostering many children to love and nurture as he did his own. He had a strong work ethic and instilled that into those he influenced. When I first visited Max and Kay about 30 years ago, I was welcomed into their home like I was one of their own. There was always food on the table for anyone who happened to come by and lots of activity swirling around their lives. I was impacted by seeing how Max and Kay were a strength and stability to those around them. He invested in others lives. People knew that Max and Kay genuinely cared about them. Max's love for the Lord was evident in his life and selflessness toward others. He is a tall tree that has deep roots with wide spread limbs to shelter and launch people out into the world. His is certainly a man to emulate.

Kay and family, We are so sorry for your loss. I will always remember Max's big smile and big greeting anytime I saw him. I can still hear him bellow my last name whenever we saw each other. Dad and I always enjoyed the numerous times we hunted and fished with him on your place. Max was a great man and leaves a wonderful legacy of family and friends. Trent

Kay, I am so sorry for your loss, but with you, I am rejoicing for Max. I'm sure the road ahead for you and your family will be full of ups and downs, much like the past many weeks have been. I know your faith will sustain you, and I pray your good memories will bring you many smiles through the tears that also need to come.
