Obituary of Ruth Tyler

Ruth C. (Baetke) Tyler, 85, departed this life on February5, 2015 at Barton County Memorial Hospital. Ruth was born on August 13, 1929 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Herb and Viola Mae Dunn Baetke. Ruth lived a very active life to the very end. She worked for some years as a Teacher in Bronaugh, Missouri. She spent more than 20 years working for Consolidated Freight Company and even spent some years traveling around from place to place in an 18 wheeler. Ruth lived in a variety of places in her life. She lived in Oklahoma, California and here in Barton County in Liberal and Golden City. When living in Liberal she attended the Iantha United Methodist Church. It was a known fact that Ruth enjoyed playing bingo and on Fridays Ruth and a friend would travel to Seneca where they would try their luck on the machines. Ruth will be sorely missed by her friends and her family. She is survived by her son, Richard Leivan of Iantha, Missouri; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, a husband, Stan, a son Ron Leivan, a daughter, Nancy Thomas, and two brothers, Jim and Tom.
