Helen M. Davis 95 passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015 at her home in Lamar after a lengthy illness. Helen was born December 25, 1919 in Corning, IA to Marion Arthur Braun and Jesse Mabel Swain she was one of 9 children. Helen married Orie W. Davis May 15, 1941 at The Little Brown Church Nashua, Iowa. In their retirement they moved to Lamar, MO in 1979. Helen was a homemaker caring for her husband and 4 children. She was a member of the Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Helen is survived by 4 children W. Jeanne Davis, Duncanville, TX, William "Bill" Davis and his wife Darla of Lamar, MO, Della Niehaus, Whiteland, IN, and Marie Adkisson, Johnston, IA, 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. It was Helen's wish to remain in her home; this was made possible by Bill and Darla Davis. Darla was Helen's committed and loving caregiver providing for her every need for as long as she needed. She was preceded in death by her husband Orie on April 15, 1999, her parents, 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Visitation will be Thursday, November 5th 7:00-8:00 pm and services Friday, November 6th 10:00 am at Konantz Warden Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. James Cemetery.
