Obituary of Joan Baslee

Joan Elayne Baslee, 68, of Lamar, MO passed away June 28, 2016. She was born February 8, 1948 in Lamar to Arthur and Ruth (Miller) Banwart. Joan attended school in Lamar Schools then Liberal High School graduating in the top of her class in 1966. She graduated from Mt. Carmel School of Nursing in 1969. She worked at Dade County Hospital and Barton County Memorial Hospital as a RN. She married Teal Baslee June 10, 1972 in Jericho Springs, MO. Together they raised two sons Kevin and Craig. Joan had many hobbies she raised dogs, enjoyed gardening, embroidery and writing poetry. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She attended Lamar Family Ministries. She is survived by her husband Teal, sons Kevin and wife Julie, of Lamar, MO and Craig and wife Rebekah, of Neosho, MO; four grandchildren; Jenna Baslee, Taylor Pritchard, Grant Baslee and Carter Baslee, her brother Gene Banwart and wife Linda of Liberal, MO and sister Gail Strahm and husband Phil of Glenrose, TX. Joan was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson Landon Baslee.
