Please share a memory of Kristy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kristy Jan Blanchard was born January 4, 1962 in Lamar, MO to Irvin and Betty (Owen) Blanchard. She passed away June 18, 2017. She was self-employed as a homemaker and bookkeeper at the family business. Kristy was quiet, but liked to keep busy. She excelled In school and always made good grades. She was active in FFA and her sheep project was the beginning of her herd, which grew to 100 head. Kristy graduated from Lamar High School in 1981. She was talented like her mother and did embroidery work and large pieces of intricate cross-stitch. She made many quilts and tended to large flower and vegetable gardens. She would can the vegetables from her garden for her family. Kristy was not one to sit and do nothing, she enjoyed painting, putting together puzzles and she liked to play cards (pitch). Her love of her sheep and her love for any animal was strong enough that she considered them all her pets. Kristy loved her family, and enjoyed and looked forward to their annual family reunion. She will be missed by her family and friends. Kristy is survived by her brother Stan Blanchard and wife Shelia; Sheldon, Mo, and one sister Kathy Blanchard; Sheldon, MO. One niece: Anita Orahood and one nephew Chris Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents.
