Obituary of Neil McCaslin

Frankie Neil McCaslin passed away at his home Sunday, September 17, 2017.  Neil was born February 25, 1935 to Melvin E. McCaslin and Olive Daugherty McCaslin, He went to country school at Bakers Grove and finished in Lamar.  Neil married Wanda Eversoll in 1953, 2 children were born of this marriage: Roger McCaslin (Linda) and Suzie McCulley (Earl).  This marriage ended in 1958.  He served in the National Guard from 1953-1956 and in the Army 1956-1958.  Neil married Dorothy Wisely in 1959 and of this marriage 5 children were born Teresa Little (Greg), Renea Tuck (Don), Brad McCaslin (Sherri Purdy), Shane McCaslin (Holly Teasdale) and Daryl McCaslin deceased.  Neil was sprinkled at the Presbyterian Church in Tribune, KS and after moving to Sheldon, he was baptized in the Sheldon Christian Church where he later served as a Deacon and an Elder. He loved his kids and farming.   After moving to Lamar he served as superintendant of Sunday school and was on the Mission Committee for several years.  While at Sheldon he drove the school bus for 22 years retiring in 1997. Neil had also worked at Thorco several years and the ASC office 2 years.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, 1 great-grandchild Ethan Hull, and 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, 6 children, 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, and 2 sisters Wanda Hutson and Denzil Voorhees
