Obituary of Deborah Riley
Deborah F. Riley, age 62, passed on August 7, 2018 at Medical Lodge in Nevada, MO, after a long battle with cancer. Debbie was born on April 5, 1956 in Olatha, KS, to Robert and Ruby (Fast) Riley. She lived most of her life in Barton County. She graduated from Liberal High School and she also received an associate degree in nursing. She had worked as an RN at Mt. Carmel Hospital, Pittsburg, KS, an RN at the Ft. Scott Hospital, RN Administrator at Medical Lodge South in Pittsburg, KS, and worked for Vantage Point in Lamar, MO. She was a member of the Church of God in Minden MO and attended regularly when she lived in the Liberal and Minden area. Debbie was a very religious woman and continuously attended church up until her last days at the Nevada Medical Lodge. She had a strong faith in God and knew she would walk with Jesus one day. Debbie is survived by one daughter Amanda Jane (VanKirk) Foyet and her husband Patrick Foyet, two precious grandchildren; Zaden Dean VanKirk and Zoey René VanKirk, and two nephews Beau James Riley and Adam Rock Riley. She was loved dearly by her daughter and both of her grandchildren Zaden and Zoey and will be missed dearly. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her brother Dennis Riley. Debbie will be remembered by her family and friends as a caring and compassionate woman and who would always go the extra mile to help those in need. Her smiley face will be forever missed by her daughter, family and anyone who knew her. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 11, 2:00 p.m. at the Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar, MO. A visitation with the family will be held immediately after the funeral service on Saturday.
