When I saw Joan's picture in the obituary, I thought I was looking at Mrs Runnels, my second and sixth grade teacher at Asbury Elementary School. I remember Joan coming to Asbury on occasion and helping her mother. Each year, I come to Nashville Cemetery and pay respects to Mrs. Runnels at her grave. She was the best teacher I ever had, and she changed my life for the better. Rest in peace Jo, I know you and your mother have a lot to talk about.
