Obituary of Connie Lou Alexander

Connie Lou (Howard) Alexander passed away on December 24, 2019 at Kansas City Hospice House. She was born September 3, 1942 in Richmond, CA to George Thomas Howard and Leone Marie (Smith) Howard. When Connie was young, the family moved back to Lamar, MO. Connie graduated from high school in Lamar, MO and married Jim Alexander in June of 1960. They moved to Kansas City, MO and lived in many places in the area before settling in Belton, MO in 1971. Connie worked several different jobs. She worked at Avon, Marion Laboratories, drove a bus She worked as a custodian for Blue Valley School District, Hickman Mills and then Lee Summit School District, where she retired in 2004. She took pride in her jobs and made sure she gave them her best. After retirement, Connie, Jim and their dogs lived together in their home in Belton, MO until 2016 when they moved back to Lamar, MO.
Connie took pride in her family and was quick to tell people how many grand and great grandchildren she had. She loved sewing and made many items for her family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, especially flowers. Connie’s mother lived with her for three years and together they enjoyed gardening, going places and participating in activities together. She lovingly cared for her mother.
Connie attended church with her husband and had a strong faith in Jesus Christ. She was a prayer warrior for many people and spoke with God on their behalf daily.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, a brother, Tom Howard, and three daughters, Sandy Alexander, Brenda (Steve) Bogar, and Cathy (Lyle) Reynoso. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Lacie, Jamie, James, Jacqueline, Danielle, Parker, Jayde and 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Connie’s family loved her greatly and she will be deeply missed.
The family will have a Celebration of Life from 2 pm to 4 pm Saturday January 11, 2020 at Lamar Assembly of God.
