Obituary of Louise Fern Jones

Louise Fern (Jensen) Jones, age 84, died on January 12, 2020 following a brief illness. She was born to William Christian Jensen and Olive Amanda Konkle on September 16, 1935 in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota, as the eighth of nine children. Louise married James Jones Jr. on July 24, 1954 in Eagle Bend, Minnesota. For 22 years, they co-owned and operated B & J Lighting in Clearwater, Minnesota. Upon retirement, they relocated to Missouri where she was very active in the Milford Christian Church, and where she made many friends. She is survived by James, her loving husband of 65 years; daughter, Beverly (David) Lacy; grandchildren, Amanda (Colin) Kilbane, Jeffrey Lacy (Ben Riggs), and Brentley (Nicole) Jones. She is also survived by a sister, Ruth Carlson; two sisters-in-law, Carol Jensen and Loretta (Charles) Laman; a cousin, Gladys Miller; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Barry Jones; her parents; and seven siblings: Arthur Jensen, Dorothy Hanson, Doris Closson, Alice Laughton, Roy Jensen, Ann Larson and George Jensen. Louise loved to travel, play the piano and organ, play cards, and spend time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A visitation will be held on Thursday January 16, 2020, at Milford Christian Church, from 1 pm to 2 pm followed by a 2 pm funeral service. The family invites you to a reception for fellowship and snacks following the service. A private committal will be held in Clearwater, Minnesota at a later date.
