It is with great sadness that we learned of Dan's passing. He and I were hired in the same pilot class at Republic Airlines back in 1980. Dan was the oldest, wisest, and most senior, while I was the youngest, dumbest, and most junior. That relationship never changed over the years. I had the pleasure of meeting Dan in Monticello many, many times for a round of golf. We would head back to Becker to enjoy a meal with LaVerne and the kids. Later when I finally got married, Dan helped me build the oak candle holder that my wife and I used in our wedding ceremony. Dan was a kind, loving friend that I will never forget.
