Obituary of Shannon Lee Witt

Shannon Lee Witt, 47, of Carthage, MO died Sunday July 26, 2020 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Shannon was born March 9, 1973 in Carthage, MO to David Witt and April Crawford Witt. She was a 1991 graduate of Carthage Senior High School where she played softball and managed the high school boys’ soccer team. She married Shannon Greene and the family lived in Lamar, Sarcoxie, and Carthage, MO. She was formerly employed at Lonnie’s Tavern and was instrumental in opening Mazoo Liquor Store in Sarcoxie, MO. When she moved back to Carthage, MO, she became a Master Gardener, worked at the Carthage VFW, and did excellent furniture repair work. She was a loving, giving, humorous wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Survivors include Shannon Greene; her father David Witt; mother April Hurst and stepfather David Hurst; stepfather, Tommy Platt; brothers, Ryan Witt (Brook), and Brett Hurst (Susana); sons, Brandon Jones (Abbey), Koltin Greene, Kyle Greene; stepson, Skyler Greene; daughters, Grace Greene and Karsen Greene; grandsons, Baker Jones and Bennett Jones. A memorial service will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 31,2020 at Church of the Nazarene, 2000 S. Grand Ave. in Carthage, MO.
