Obituary of David Douglas Kincaid

David Douglas Kincaid, 79, of Lamar, MO went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 25, 2021.
David was born on June 9, 1942 to Arthur and Ruth (Basore) Kincaid in Oklahoma City, OK. He grew up in the Milford, MO area and attended Round Prairie Schools. David kept in touch with his Round Prairie friends and enjoyed a reunion with them every year during the fair. He graduated from Lamar High School in 1961. After graduation, he joined the Navy, where he served from 1961 to 1965 during the Vietnam War. On March 4, 1967, David married Linda Swearengin. They lived in the Kansas City area. He worked at Tension Envelope as an electrician and later worked his way up to plant manager. He retired in 2003 after working there for 38 years. After retiring, David and Linda moved back to “Horse Creek” (Milford) where he enjoyed farming and being part of the community.
David always believed that his family came first. He loved his family and was very involved in the lives of his grandchildren. He enjoyed attending their sporting events and other activities. He was always available to listen, offer advice, and occasionally offer a word of wisdom on the right thing to do. He was very proud of his grandsons.
David served the Lord in various ways. After giving his life to the Lord and being baptized in 1967, David was very active in his church. He served as a deacon for many years, as well as working with the youth and being on various other committees in the church.
He enjoyed being part of the community and helping out his neighbors. He was a member of the VFW in Lamar, MO and in Jasper, MO. He was also a member of the Golden City Lions club.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda; daughter Tammy (Darren) Morrison of Lamar, MO; and grandsons Brayden David Morrison, Jacob Douglas Morrison, and Elijah Todd Morrison. He is also survived by his 2 siblings Charles (Marilyn) Kincaid of Independence, MO, and Margaret (Jack) Craig of Coleman, FL, and by many other loving nieces and nephews, family members, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Arthur Kincaid, Elizabeth Waters, Robert Kincaid, Jerome Kincaid, Paul Kincaid, Warren Kincaid, and Richard Kincaid.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Milford Christian Church.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Milford Christian Church.
The funeral home will remain open until 7 pm on Monday August 30, 2021 if you would like to sign the book.
