Glen E. Seibel was born September 27, 1926, to Walter and Mary Longhofer Seibel in Marion, Kansas. He passed away at Menorah Medical Center, Overland Park, Kansas, February 25, 2013.
Glen married Katheryn Jewel Willis on July 19, 1959, at Valley Center Christian Church in Valley Center, Kansas. Three boys were born to this union, Timothy, Alan and Craig. They moved to Lamar, MO in 1968, from Burton, Kansas. Katheryn preceded him in death March 26, 2006.
Glen served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946 aboard the USS Lexington. He then went to work for the Frisco Rail Road and later, Burlington Northern, as an agent. Glen has been an active member of the Lamar First Christian Church for many years. He was a recipient of the Senior Service Award Proclamation and Governor's Heart of Gold for his years of dedicated volunteer service to the Lamar Community and was a member of the Lions Club.
Glen is preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie, and children Anita and Rodney; wife Katheryn (Katie); wife Wanda; his parents; a brother, Maynard Powers. Survivors include his three sons; Timothy and his wife, Rhonda, of Thayer, KS, Alan and his wife, Leah, of Enid, OK, Craig and his wife, Tammy, of Springfield, MO; five grandchildren, David, Caleb, Lindsey, Alison & Heather Seibel; two great grandchildren, Capri June and Madison Jewel Seibel; sister, Thelma Jean Friday; numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
