Edward Leroy Jones passed away on Friday November 3, 2023. He was born on August 19, 1942, in Lockwood, MO to Hiawatha "Juanita" (Smith) and Paul Jones. He grew up in Greenfield, MO and lived there until he moved to Joplin, MO in his early 20s. He worked for Joplin Auto Spring Company for 40 years until he retired. He was also a shade tree mechanic, loved Harleys and fast cars.
Eddie is survived by his children Eric (Dawn) Jones of Harrison, AR, Lori (David) Wilson of Harrison, AR, Daniel (Sheila) Jones of Harrison, AR, and Edward Jones Jr. of Carterville, MO; stepson Jeremy McElhaney of Neck City, MO; grandchildren Brandon Jones, Brittany Jones, Autumn Wood, Megan Smith, Trey Jones, Mason Jones, Clayton Anderson, and Amber Weaver; and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Levona Evans of Lamar, MO, David Jones of Lamar, MO, and Joseph Jones Sr of Greenfield, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Phyllis Shively; and brothers Morris Jones and Robert Jones.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to assist with final expenses.
The family will receive visitors from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday November 7, 2023, at Konantz Warden Funeral Home. A service will follow at 2:00 PM.
