Penelope (Penny) Grace Porter Smith, age 72, of Liberal, MO passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO. Penny was born in Pittsburg, KS on October 11, 1951 to Armond Monroe Porter and Cora May (Betty) Porter. She graduated from Liberal High School in Liberal, MO. She was a CNA and worked in Nursing Homes and Assisted Living facilities. She loved cats. Penny married Ed Smith on March 30, 1981. Ed passed away on June 14, 1985. She is survived by a sister Colleen Kauble and husband Don of Lincoln, MO, brother Lee Porter and wife Sandy of Liberal, MO, brother Charles Porter and wife Betty of Arma, KS, many nieces and nephews, and special friends James and Athena Sherman who provided for her care. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and brothers Paul Porter and James Porter and his wife Leta Porter.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Konantz Warden Funeral Home. There will be a visitation before the service starting at 1:00 P.M.
