On January 8, 2012, at the age of 96, "Barney" passed from this earth at Barton County Memorial Hospital, Lamar, MO.
Barney was born March 11, 1915 in Headrick, OK, to Martin and Marthalee Ora (Scarbrough) Neher.
Barney lived in Oklahoma, California, and Missouri. He was a Rubber Mill worker, employed by Uniroyal, the United States Rubber Company, retiring in 1959. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Lamar and was baptized in 1980.
Despite the fact that Barney was without eyesight he very much enjoyed keeping his home neat and tidy; keeping up with the laundry and making his bed daily. He like doing his own maintenance and "fixing" things around the house, including plumbing. He was a very active and "independent" man. Barney enjoyed visiting with his family and neighbors, eating out at the Senior Center in Lamar and especially eating pie for dessert.
Barney is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Ester Mildred Neher. He is survived by a son, Kenneth Neher, CA; extended family include Virginia and husband, Bill Harralson, Springfield, MO, Marlene and husband, Ralph Talbot, Houston, MO, Morris and wife Marcella Parker, Shell Knob, MO; sisters Bulah Neher Mickel, OK, Oria Neher, CO; niee Lillie Lemon, OK and great nephew, David Lemon, Strafford, MO.
