Linden King Wolf Linden King Wolf, 86, Iantha, passed away July 8, 2013 at his home in the Iantha community with his wife and family at his side. He was born July 7, 1927 to George V. and Ruby (Morgan) Wolf near Iantha, on the family's farm. He was the youngest of six children and lived in Barton County, residing on the family homestead farm for all except five years of his life. He attended Crossroads, a one-room schoolhouse 1-8 grade and graduated from Liberal High School in 1945. His childhood was spent working on his family farm. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Navy. During 1945-1946, Linden served on the USS Baltimore Naval ship. He worked on the LST 1130 and the USS Hornet.. At the completion of WWII, he was actively engaged in production agriculture raising row crops, hay, beef cattle, and he milked cows. He was active in the Rural Youth Organization (RYO). December 23, 1950, Linden married the Duvall school teacher, Betty "Lucille" Hininger, from the Blue Community. They have been married 62 ½ years. To this union two children were born, Linda Eggerman and Bruce Wolf. Linden was a member of the Iantha Methodist Church. He has generously served in leadership roles through serving on various boards including the Liberal Schools, MFA, and Iantha Methodist Church. He served as a 4-H project leader in the Progressive 4-H and an adult leader in the Rough Rider 4-H club. He was a member of the Lamar Saddle Club and the Muddy Creek Wagon Trail Ride group. He enjoyed trail rides and horse related activities. Telling stories and jokes were his trademark on various bus tours, travel trips and Senior Citizen's dances. Linden learned to dance as a teenager and he enjoyed it as an activity until recently. He also loved attending Blue Grass music and musical events. When asked about his life, Linden commented that he "could not think of a single person he would like to trade places with". He has touched many lives and will be missed by many including his children and their spouses, daughter, Linda and husband, Leland Eggerman; son, Bruce and Rita (Blaser) Wolf; seven grandchildren and spouses, Andy and Brandi (Barton) Wolf, Lesha (Eggerman) and David Muncy; Linse (Eggerman) and Dan Hawks, Addie (Wolf) and Reed Graham; Adam and Kati (Smith) Wolf; Lee and Kara (Selvey) Eggerman; and Landon Eggerman; twelve great-grandchildren Kynli, Kayli, Rolli and Harper Wolf; Dagan and Dalton Graham; Madelyn Muncy; Lucas and Addison Eggerman; Wyatt, Emelia and Anna Hawks. Linden is preceded in death by his parents George and Ruby Wolf, siblings, Wanda Wolfe, June Divine, Gale Wolf, Jean Gossett and her twin, Dean Wolf.
