Mona Elizabeth "Beth" Workman, 64, Liberal, Missouri, passed away Monday, January 17, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. in Liberal.
Beth was born October 11, 1946 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Walter and Connie (Rife) Case. She was raised by her mother and step-father, Frank Cheney Sr. in Pittsburg, Kansas.
She graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1964. After graduation she married Tony Baker. He preceded her in death in 1976. In August 4, 1984 she married Woody Workman of Liberal, MO and he preceded her in death on November 21, 2008.
Beth worked for the Liberal Newspaper for over 20 years. She had been working for the Barton County Library in Liberal since 2002 and still partime for the newspaper. She belonged to the Liberal Red Hatters, past president for the Liberal PTO and was very active in the Girl Scouts. She was a member of the Faith Fellowship Church in Liberal. She enjoyed reading and working with people. She was a big fan of Elvis and truly enjoyed her trip to Graceland with her daughter.
Survivors include her daughter, Angela Schuh of Liberal, MO; sons David Baker and wife Veronica of Nashville, Mo and Dennis Baker and special friend, Gina of Independence, MO; four brothers, Skip Case of Florida, Frank Cheney of Carl Junction, MO, Calvin Cheney of Oklahoma and Nick Cheney of Girard, Kansas; six grandchildren, Noah, Jerry, Dennis, Anthony, Vashellica and Bella; one great grandson and two great granddaughters and an immeasurable number of friends.
