Maxine Walker, 84, Lamar, Missouri passed away on Friday, March 11, 2011 at St John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, MO.
Maxine was born April 3, 1926 in Sharpsburg, Kentucky to Ollie and Rosie (Welch) Reed. She attended school at Bald Eagle, Kentucky. Maxine married Johnnie M. Henderson, Sr. and became a housewife and mother. To this union was born three children. He later preceded her in death. She married Charles Kenneth Walker in Fort Scott, Kansas on September 25, 1968. He also preceded her in death on June 26, 1990.
Survivors include one son, Johnnie Henderson, Jr. and wife Sharon, of Hamilton, Missouri; one daughter, Phyllis Kirby and James Kennedy of Grove, Oklahoma; one sister, Beulah Crouch and half-brother, Raymond Manley both of Kentucky; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Walker; parents; son, William Earl Henderson on February 27, 1991; brother, Paul Reed and four sisters, Lena, Pauline, Ruby and Mary Alice.
Maxine was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lamar, MO, The Rural Mail Carrier Association and the Liberal American Legion Auxiliary.
