I was very blessed to know Elmer and Arlene from going to church with them when I returned home for three years. He had that sly smile that gave you enough about his soul to know that if he included you as a friend, you were a friend indeed. I was always amazed at his stamina. His patriotism was unequaled which he shared with thousands throughout his life in Barton County and abroad. If there are farms in heaven, he deserves to have his pick. Thank you Elmer for enriching my life those three brief years. Give dad a hug when you see him.

...Barton County lost a cornerstone of our community yesterday with the passing of Elmer Dean Fast.
...Elmer was rock solid in his faith in God and Country...believed in the unity of family...a WWII defender of freedom...and understood the importance of protecting the agriculture resources of this farming community.
...Elmer Dean will be missed but always remembered for the personal influences he made on so many of our lives.
