Obituary of Dr. Timothy L Sprenkle
Dr. Timothy Lee Sprenkle, born June 18, 1962 to Roy and Lorene Sprenkle went to meet the Lord on Friday, May 17, 2019. Survivors include his parents and four loving and caring children; Veronica H. Wells and husband Ethan, Quentin R. Sprenkle, Oliver R. Sprenkle, and Angus R. Sprenkle. Tim was especially fond of his grandson, Cohen A. Wells; whom he often talked about and showed pictures of to anyone who showed an interest. Tim is survived by two sisters; Tammy L. Motazedi and husband Dr. Dean Motazedi of Broken Arrow, OK, their two children; Tray and Alexander and Tabby L. Compton and husband Jeff Compton of Carthage, MO, their three children; Christopher, Kaleb, and Kelsey. He loved them all and especially liked to cut up and tease his family.
Tim graduated from Jasper High School as Valedictorian in 1980 and from Missouri Southern State University, with honors, in 1984. He then received his Doctor of Osteopathy from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in June 1988. From 1988-1989 he served his internship, and then his residency from 1989-1991, at Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City, MO (now Still Regional Medical Center).
Tim moved to Lamar, MO in 1991 and set up Family Practice working with Dr. Joustra, Dr. Wilson and later with Dr. Eric Miller whom he grew to love and respect. Tim loved working in the ER because he said that is where the action is. Over the years, he spent a lot of his weekends at Barton County Memorial Hospital. He has delivered numerous children from this area and saved countless lives. In all, Tim had 29 years of ER experience. When he left Freeman in 2018, he had many offers to work in ER’s for various hospitals. He finally decided on Washington County Memorial Hospital in Potosi, MO as Director of the ER. He loved this hospital and staff. He was so impressed that he decided to move there. He purchased a home and in the process of moving he was bitten, several times, by a Brown Recluse spider. The venom from the spider attacked the liver and kidneys. After reading his own chart, he said that he did not believe he would live. After much prayer from friends, family and churches, he seemed to be on the road to recovery and even went to work one day. Soon though, he was attacked by a second and more deadly disease, Meningitis. His weakened condition lowered his chance of recovery.
Tim passed from this world Friday, May 17, 2019 at 6:27 P.M. He had told his dad, when he was seriously ill with the spider bites, that his conscience was clear and that he was ready to meet Jesus. Nevertheless, Tim will be sorely missed in this world by his family, friends, and loved ones.
The funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. at the Thiebaud Auditorium in Lamar on Saturday May 25th. His family will receive friends at a visitation, 5 – 8 P.M. on Friday May 24th at the Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar. Interment will be at the Nashville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Nashville Cemetery.
